“In recent years the Appalachian region has been plagued with a drug epidemic causing loss of life and financial strain from those impaired by drug addiction. Coupled with sharp increase in babies born with addiction and additional strain on the foster care system we, at True North WV, LLC, want to be part of the solution which is why 100% of our profits is committed to help those enduring substance abuse recovery.
We have partnered with Heart of Phoenix Equine Rescue (HOP) and Coalfield Development to pursue the creation of an equine assisted therapy center and incorporate rescued horses. We believe broken horses and broken humans can health together.
It’s proven that a recovery client is four times more likely to complete the first pivotal 90 days if therapy horses are available. We hope to provide a beneficial tool for local substance abuse recovery programs as they help spiritually broken humans evolve a higher sense of empowerment, trust and peace.”
